Yahoo may have spurned Microsoft's advances, but Redmond's not one to lament what might have been. Windows Live General Manager Brian Hall told investors Tuesday that, while Yahoo would have helped his business, Microsoft has moved on. Now the company will focus its efforts on growing as fast as possible organically. Hall talked about the importance of Windows Live to Microsoft's overall business, and said one of its main purposes is to try to keep the operating system relevant in an increasingly browser-centric world.

LinkedIn is reportedly looking for a round of venture funding, rather than shopping around for a new parent company. Spearheading the fundraising effort is Allen & Co., which hopes the site's lucrative user base will help bring in $1 billion in funding.

HTC officially unveiled its new Touch Diamond, a Microsoft-based iPhone rival that beat Apple to the punch with 3G. The Diamond comes with a bevy of slick features, but won't make it to North America until the second half of this year.
